Tears in the Seminary
(To the victims of thunder's rage)
After the rains
There was  more
Tears in the drains than water
The shadows
Of the raindrops crawled
On faces in ceaseless tears
Flashback
Wove lightning in eyes-
Traces of the
Thunder roared in
Fear struck hearts
The disappearing storm
Took refuge in sighs-
Statued before the chapel
Covered in the soot
Of the smoke that carried
Their souls away
We chanted requiems with the sullied moon
Death was guilty
Of murder and sacrilege-
Fear visited the Seminary again
Decades after the tormentor (Nana Twene )
Became feast for vultures
O Osei Kuffour
O Adofo-
We carved your statues
Out of every  cloud
Martyrs of Abesim-
Every thunderstorm
Revive your wounds in our hearts
June 21 is here
Tears flood St James Seminary!
